Sanibel Sea School to hold free camp day for youth

By Staff | May 9, 2019

The Sanibel Sea School will host a Community Camp Day on May 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In early 2018, it started offering the free days for local students on select school holidays. Like the weeklong camp programs, Community Camp Days are open to ages 6-13 and Counselors In Training ages 13-17. Each day has a theme, and the games and activities are related to the topic of the day.

The theme for this Community Camp Day will be symbiosis.

Space is limited, and registration will be on a first come, first served basis.

Registration will open on May 15 at 9 a.m. To register, email the following information to communitycamp@sanibelseaschool.org after registration opens:

– Parent name

– Parent email address

– Parent phone number

– Each child’s name, date of birth and gender

– If child is 13, indicate whether he or she would like to be a camper or CIT, or first available

Campers may only be registered by a parent or guardian.

The Sanibel School will respond to the registration emails in the order that they are received for placement. Emails received prior to the set registration date and time will not be valid.

To ensure that all interested families have a chance to participate in Community Camp Days, registration will be limited to two free days per calendar year, per child.

Extended drop off and pick up times are offered to better accommodate working parents.

The Sanibel Sea School is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. For more information, visit sanibelseaschool.org or call 239-472-8585.
