The Jac celebrates anniversary, reopens back bar
The Jac Sanibel Island Bar & Grille has a lot to celebrate this month as the top-rated restaurant is marking its one-year anniversary with the much-anticipated return of the back bar.
Officials from the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce will join owner Eve Alves for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 20 at 5:30 p.m. to commemorate the official back bar reopening.
The back bar was a staple of the former Jacaranda restaurant, offering music and dancing.
With live music every night from 7 to 11 p.m., it is a place where guests can get moving or head outside for a game of cornhole and laid-back vibe with friends. Happy hour menu is also available.
Talented musicians are scheduled to perform all month long at the back bar, including country powerhouse Neon Summer on May 11 and May 25. Back by popular demand, the Renata Band will return for a night of dancing and grooving on May 18.
As part of the anniversary celebration, one fan of The Jac will have a chance to win a $50 gift card and T-shirt. There will be a post on facebook.com/TheJacSanibel with instructions on how to enter.
