Hackman to perform with Southwest Florida Symphony
The Southwest Florida Symphony welcomes the return of YouTube sensation, conductor-composer-arranger Steve Hackman to lead its upcoming concert at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall as part of the orchestra’s continuing effort to advance new musical concepts that incorporate classical composition.
On May 4, Hackman will lead the symphony in a performance of his arrangements that fuse Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3” and the music of iconic British rock band, Coldplay.
Tickets range from $25-$105.
For tickets, visit www.swflso.org or www.bbmannpah.com, or call the symphony box office at 239-418-1500 or the Barbara B. Mann Hall box office at 239-481-4849.
In addition, the symphony will offer a unique VIP experience on May 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. at a private home in downtown Fort Myers. It will hold a bourbon tasting event, A Fifth of Beethoven, featuring sonically aged Hudson Bourbon. The specific location will be disclosed to ticketholders upon purchase.
Two barrels of bourbon will be exposed to the sonic effect of the music of Beethoven and Coldplay, thereby sonically aging each barrel to different soundwaves. Breakthru Beverage Group Distributors has been experimenting with sonic spirit aging with a variety of spirits and musical genres.
The event will also offer signature cocktails courtesy of Nice Guys Pizza in Cape Coral, light fare from the Seminole Casino and an exclusive meet-and-greet and entertainment provided by Hackman.
Tickets are $100 and be purchased at www.swflso.org or by calling 239-418-1500.
