Summer hours to begin at Sanibel Historical Museum and Village
The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village will switch to off-season summer hours on May 1.
The summer hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
The museum will close on Aug. 1 and will reopen on regular full-time hours on Oct. 15.
Regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Museum staff and board members plan a busy off-season, working on key administrative tasks and many museum improvement projects that often take a backseat during the busy tourist season.
The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village will remain open during the BIG ARTS construction project. The project will continue through the remainder of the village’s season and into next season, but parking and access for village guests and volunteers will be available throughout that time.
The traditional entrance to the village has been closed off for the construction and a new temporary entrance has been made available down the road to the west at what was the exit drive. That drive will now function as both an entrance and exit access. Clear signage has been added at both places.
Admission is $10 for ages 18 and older; children and members are free.
Free guided tours are at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., based upon docent availability.
Beginning May 1, the tours will available at 10:30 a.m. only.
