The Sanibel Sea School’s Ocean Tribe Outfitters retail shop has partnered with On Island Sanibel to offer a new line of branded apparel and accessories. A variety of thoughtfully designed items for youth and adults feature the Ocean Tribe Outfitters logo, and all sales will support the Sanibel Sea School’s mission and scholarship programs.

On Island founder Kate Sergeant has been designing and selling modern high-quality clothing and island gear in her shop since 2016. More recently, she began supporting island conservation projects through the sale of special edition items.

“I have always been passionate about protecting our local wildlife, and I realized that my shop provided a valuable platform to raise both awareness and funds for the cause,” she said.

Sergeant’s first partnership was with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation for its Sea Turtle Research Program.

“I reached out to Kate for help to design and produce a commemorative T-shirt for our first annual Flip Flop Family Scavenger Hunt last year,” Chrissy Basturk, retail coordinator for the Sanibel Sea School, said. “She was a pleasure to work with and obviously very talented when it comes to design, so I couldn’t be happier to collaborate with her again on this new project.”

The new line includes super soft tri-blend cotton hoodies, long sleeve performance tees, sueded cotton T-shirts, tank tops, mesh back hats, and insulated, boat-friendly beverage containers.

“The Ocean Tribe Outfitters logo is great, so it was fun to add it to everything, along with some other ocean-inspired designs,” Sergeant said.

In addition, the Sanibel Sea School’s work will be highlighted next to the J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society on On Island’s awareness table – a space in the shop dedicated to public education. Special edition T-shirts will be produced to support each organization.

All items are available at Ocean Tribe Outfitters, at 455 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

On Island Sanibel is at 630 Tarpon Bay Road, Sanibel.

The Sanibel Sea School is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. For more information, visit sanibelseaschool.org or call 239-472-8585.
