Island bridge games to benefit local couple in need

By Staff | Mar 20, 2019

The Willoughby Fund Sanctioned Duplicate Bridge Game and the Non-Sanctioned Bridge Game will take place on March 28 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at The Community House on Sanibel.

The registration fee is $10.

Proceeds from the games will go to Susan and George Willoughby, who have been longtime island bridge fixtures – teaching, playing, running sanctioned games and befriending those they meet.

According to the event organizers, Susan Willoughby is in ill health and confined to the Shell Point Retirement Community. Her husband is also not doing well, and they are in need of some financial aid.

An account has also been opened for them at the FineMark Bank at Shell Point. The name of the account is “Henry Lee Cooper III FBO Susan Willoughby” and George Willoughby is a beneficiary.

For those who would like to donate directly, checks can be made payable to Lee Cooper FBO Susan Willoughby and sent to Lee Cooper, 5807 Turban Court, Fort Myers, FL 33908.

They can also be taken to any FineMark Bank and Trust office and deposited into the account.

Donations will also be accepted at the games on their behalf.

For more information or to register, contact Jeff Moss at 203-770-0216 or gsmklm@aol.com.

The Community House is at 2173 Periwinkle Way.
