College choir to perform at Sanibel Community Church
The Messiah College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers and its conductor, Dr. Joy Meade, will present a concert of sacred and secular music on March 24 at 5 p.m. at Sanibel Community Church.
The choir’s 2019 tour, which runs from March 20-25, will take the 45-member group to churches and schools in Florida. The tour will officially conclude on March 31, when the choir presents its home campus concert in Parmer Hall at the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts at Messiah College in Pennsylvania.
The Messiah College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform a program titled “So Loved.” The repertoire of both sacred and secular works spans a variety of musical styles and narrates many ways that God has revealed his love to the world. Selections include traditional hymns, Lotti’s “Crucifixus,” Davies’ “Songs from the Ark,” Gibb’s spiritual arrangement “Ain’t a that Good News,” Brahms quartets, Beatles tunes, bluegrass and more.
CDs will be available for purchase, including the newest release, “Music Down in My Soul.”
Sanibel Community Church is at 1740 Periwinkle Way.
