The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation will host a live butterfly release, with a program, on March 26 at the Native Landscapes and Garden Center at the Bailey Homestead Preserve.
It will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the pollinator garden.
Attendees will get to learn about the life cycles and larval host plants of the butterflies that will be released. They will also get to take home a laminated butterfly guide created by the SCCF.
Butterfly plants will be available for purchase.

The SCCF is dedicated to the conservation of coastal habitats and aquatic resources on Sanibel and Captiva and in the surrounding watershed. It offers a wide array of educational programs, from beach and trail walks, to boat and kayak tours, wading trips and classroom-based activities. Its garden center has a variety of native plants for sale on site, and it also offers landscaping and educational services.
