Sanibel Recreation Center adds to Hall of Sponsors

Blue Giraffe Restaurant, at 2075 Periwinkle Way, Suite 14, Sanibel, has joined the Sanibel Recreation Center’s Hall of Sponsors as a new sponsor.

Proceeds from the purchase of the sponsor sign are applied to the center’s Financial Assistance Program. It assists families that financially qualify for their children to attend the after-school program, summer day and holiday camps, fun days, babysitter training camp, basketball league, volleyball camp and Zuni Camp Out at the center.

A printout of all the sponsors can also be obtained at the center’s reception counter.

Lighthouse of SWFL selected as grant recipient

Lighthouse of SWFL was selected as a recipient of a $22,000 grant from Southwest Florida Children’s Charities at the recent 2019 Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest.

Supporting the organization’s Blind Babies and Children’s Programs, the funds will provide innovative toys and equipment for a creative play space area and after school sports program, which will significantly aid in developing skills for independence for babies and children with major vision loss.

The programs provide vital services and resources to children and their families to develop independent living skills, prevent developmental delays and improve cognitive, social, and emotional skills.

Lighthouse of SWFL is a United Way partner agency serving individuals with blindness and vision impairment in Lee, Glades, and Hendry counties. For more information, visit www.lighthouseswfl.org, or call 239-997-7797.
