By Staff | Mar 7, 2019

PHOTO PROVIDED The Revs. Deb Kunkel and Dr. John H. Danner will co-teach “A Woman’s Place.”

The pastors at Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ will present a two-part study, “A Woman’s Place: The History of Women in the American Church,” on March 13 and 20.

The sessions will take place each day at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The theological studies programs are free and open to the public.

Senior Pastor John H. Danner will trace the history of the church in America from the 17th through the 21st century. He will highlight the various ways different denominations have included or excluded women from key leadership roles and full participation. Associate Pastor Deborah Kunkel will focus on six specific women, including notables such as the Grimke sisters and Georgia Harkness.
