LWV of Sanibel to host luncheon program on immigration
The League of Women Voters of Sanibel will hold its monthly luncheon on March 21.
The program is “A Russian Perspective on Russia-U.S. Relations” and will feature Russia-U.S. Legal Education Foundation President Sidney Picker Jr. and Vice President and Secretary Jane M. Picker.
They will share a Russian perspective on the state of U.S.-Russia relations and their work.
Established by the Pickers, RUSLEF is a non-profit whose mission is to seed the rising generation of the bench and bar in Russia with a rule-of-law legal culture. Working in cooperation with ABA accredited law schools from Maine to California, they have brought over 100 Russian law students to study for a year in the U.S. and then return to Russian to pursue their legal careers.
Taking place at the Sundial Beach Resort, registration will open at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. The program will run from about 12:30 to 2 p.m., including a question-and-answer session.
