By Staff | Mar 6, 2019

Hirdie Girdie Gallery, at 2490 Library Way, Sanibel, is continuing its 25th anniversary celebration with March guest artist David Acevedo. A reception featuring his paintings will take place on March 14 from 5 to 8 p.m., with Tower Gallery and Suncatcher’s Dream also participating. Acevedo has had a life-long fascination with art and graduated with a degree in visual arts from the University of Puerto Rico. He moved to Southwest Florida in 2000 and co-founded the Fort Myers Art Walk, Union Artist Studios at Alliance for the Arts and DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery. In recognition of its anniversary, the gallery is raffling off a gift basket filled with an assortment of artworks donated by member artists and valued at over $500. Proceeds from the tickets will be donated to the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Haiti, commemorating the gallery’s beginnings as a Haitian art gallery.
