GoFundMe account set up for family of child who died after being hit by car
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for the family of a child who died after she was struck by a car while walking along Durrance Road Monday morning.
Alana Marie Tamplin, 12, was walking along the edge of road with another child at approximately 7 a.m. when she was struck by a car. Alana was returning home after walking her younger sister to her school bus stop. There are no sidewalks.
Money raised will help the family with resulting medical expenses and Alana’s funeral.

A 12-year old girl was fatally injured early Monday morning after she was stuck by a car while walking along Durrance Road.
Alana Marie Tamplin was walking south near the edge of roadway with another juvenile at approximately 7 a.m., when she was hit by a car in the southbound lane.
The driver, identified as Mary Ann Miller, 62, of North Fort Myers initially stopped but then left in her vehicle, returning a short time later, according to the Florida Highway Patrol,
Neither the second youth, who was walking with Alana along the sloped grassy ditch, nor the passenger in the car, were injured.
The crash is under investigation.
