Winter after-school programs at Sea School

By Staff | Jan 9, 2019

Beginning Jan. 15, the Sanibel Sea School will offer a new, four-week season of After School Science centered on plate tectonics. Participants ages 6-13 will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. to discover through hands-on activities how the planet’s layers interact with one another to create natural structures and seismic events.

“We’re going to build volcanoes and geysers, and make our own earthquakes,” said educator Johnny Rader. “Most people don’t realize how constantly and dramatically the landscape of our planet changes, but it’s happening all the time. I can’t wait to explore the topic with our students.”

Sessions will be offered on Jan. 15, Jan. 22, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5. The cost is $20 per student per session. Learn more and register at sanibelseaschool.org/afterschool. Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time.
