Three teens charged with robbery with firearm and grand theft
Three Cape Coral teens are facing charges of robbery with a firearm and grand theft after setting up a purchase of a vape handle over Snapchat Wednesday morning.
Ernesto Hernandez, Tristan Held and Aiden Held showed up to the victim’s house just before 10 a.m. in a minivan to complete the transaction for the previously agreed upon $120 they discussed over the popular app, Snapchat, according to a release from the Cape Coral Police Department.
As the victim entered the front passenger’s seat, the driver, Tristan Held, pulled a black handgun and demanded the money and anything else he had, while the rear passenger, Hernandez, procured a silver handgun and also pointed it at the victim, the report continued.
The victim gave the teens his money, wallet and phone, then jumped out of the van to run inside and call 9-1-1, said the CCPD.
A Cape Coral police officer was searching for the van in question and eventually happened upon a silver Chrysler Town and Country Van on Skyline Boulevard stopped in the median with a white male searching for something in the grass.
The officer turned around to head back to the vehicle and as it began to pull off, conducted a traffic stop with other officers present as well, said the report.
The three males were removed from the vehicle and detained, as officers found two handguns under the passengers seat, as well as cash on the drivers seat, said CCPD.
Hernandez, 16, of 1210 S.E. 14th Terrace, Cape Coral; Tristan Held, 16, and Aiden Held, 14, both of 3061 Sunset Pointe Circle, Cape Coral; were all charged and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
