Free programs at the ‘Ding’ Darling refuge to begin

The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel recently announced its calendar of daily free tours and programs for winter 2019.

The calendar begins on Jan. 7 and runs through April 28.

Daily programs begin at 8:30 a.m. and include such diverse activities as Nature Photography, Beach Walk, Endangered Species and Indigo Trail Walk.

“We have something for visitors of all ages,” Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland said. “The free refuge programs and tours last anywhere from a half hour to two hours.”
