Reiss joins board of directors for CIHS
The Captiva Island Historical Society recently welcomed Ginny Reiss to its board of directors.
She will have the opportunity to share her extensive educational experience as a teacher, mentor and program developer in both the Colorado and Ohio school systems.
Reiss has a passion for Captiva and its history. She has been a frequent CIHS volunteer, sits on the Captiva Memorial Library Board, has leadership roles in her homeowners association and serves as an officer for a Florida marketing services company.
As an educator, she was chosen to mentor and supervise student teachers in her elementary school. Reiss developed curriculum for after-school programs to help new teachers engage their students, and she observed and evaluated student teachers’ classroom performance. She assumed the responsibilities in addition to her classroom teaching. After her retirement, Reiss continued to tutor students and participate in team teaching projects.
She and her husband have split their time between Captiva and Golden, Colorado, since 1999.
Ginny joins the CIHS board, committed to fostering its continued growth and success.
