The Sanibel School, at 3840 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel, presents the following:
Fall Music Showcase
The Music Department will present the Fall Music Showcase on Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium. The concert will feature the Steel Drum Band, Seahorse Chorale, Elementary Choir and Orff Club. The theme of this year’s showcase is “Musical Inspirations.” Tickets are $5 for adults and students are free.
Winners travel to refuge
Students Molly Dunn, Vanessa Kelly, Gia Lackenby, Olivia Kauffold, Abbie Wheeler, D.J. Jenkins, Adeline Von Wowern, Heidi Hall, Anna Anderson- Kilgore and Ava Selby – the winners of the “Ding” Darling Duck Stamp and editorial cartoon contests – were invited to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Nov. 27 for a special field trip to celebrate their achievements and creativity. Staff wanted to honor the winners by exploring the Indigo Trail and discussing their passions and concerns about the environment.
Recycled art supplies needed
The Sanibel School is in the beginning of brainstorming for the Children’s Holiday Tree Trail at the Edison Home. The theme is “Moonlight and Sunlight.” The criteria calls for using recycled materials that can withstand the outside elements, as well as be creative. The school is in need of round Altoid metal containers and small toys sitting or standing figurines. It also hopes to collect moonshells from any shell collectors. Items can be dropped off in the school office for Ty Stewart.
