Cape Harbour invites the community to their annual Holiday Magic and Snow Festival today and tomorrow to help kick off the holiday season.

“This is the third year doing this event. We do it every year. It’s the beginning of the holiday for us. This is how we introduce the holidays to Cape Harbour,” Fathoms Restaurant & Bar Co-Owner Valeria Zanella Voisin said.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17.

“It’s my favorite event for the year. It’s a beautiful event. It is so nice because the kids are amazed. Some of the kids have not seen snow ever, have not played with the snow. It’s nice to see them enjoy and very entertaining to see them enjoy,” Zanella Voisin said.

Santa Claus will make an appearance tonight, providing children with the opportunity to share their lists, as well as have a photograph taken with him. There will also be a bounce house for the kids to enjoy.

The live music Friday night will feature 3 Crooked Steps.

“Saturday the snow is coming,” Zanella Voisin said. “We have a snow slide for the kids and a snow playground for the kids to play around.”

The snow playground features a little section where children can play and throw snowballs at each other. In addition a craft table will be available for the youngsters to create a Christmas craft.

Silver Sneakers will perform live Saturday evening.

Fathoms will be serving food and drinks.

“It’s very nice for parents. They get to relax a little bit, have a drink and have some food while the kids are playing. It’s good for everybody,” she said. “It’s going to be fun. There is a little bit of everything for everybody. It’s a family event for sure. We keep it very safe.”
