Sanibel Captiva Shell Club to meet
The Sanibel Captiva Shell Club will meet on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, at 3075 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel. Free and open to the public, there will be refreshments and door prizes. The guest speaker is Travis Mellett, from the University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science in St. Petersburg. His presentation is entitled “What is Biochemistry and How Can It Be Used to Understand Human Impacts on Shelled Organism.” As the 37th Taste of the Islands is scheduled at the same time, attendees are free to come early or later.
