Keep ‘water signs’ non-political
To the editor:
The “water signs” that are popping up in yards all over the islands are meant to bring attention to an horrendous crisis that affects us all, and screams for resolution. These signs were obviously designed to make apolitical statements. Safe clean water is, above all, a bipartisan universal issue.
With that very clear objective being their purpose, it is offensive that someone would add “Red Tide Rick” to one of these signs in front of Bailey’s General Store. As factual as this statement may be, it still amounts to defacing graffiti and has no place on such an important message meant to appeal to everyone.
