Meet-ups resume for Ocean Tribe Paddlers

By Staff | Sep 18, 2018

The Ocean Tribe Paddlers’ monthly meet-ups have been on hiatus for the past few months, but will return on Oct. 9 with a group paddle along the San Carlos Bay.

Participants will meet on the west side of the Causeway Island A at 4:45 p.m., then depart to enjoy about an hour out on the water.

“Our meet-ups are designed to give paddling enthusiasts an opportunity to hang out, share ideas and meet new paddling friends,” Johnny Rader, who will lead the October event, said.

Each participant’s first event is free, then it is requested that an annual membership be purchased, which covers events, activities, retail discounts and club logo wear.

Paddlers are encouraged to bring their own paddle craft, but a limited number of stand up paddleboards are available for loan if reserved in advance at oceantribepaddlers@sanibelseaschool.org.

“We want to make it easy for everyone to attend, even new paddlers who do not have their own gear yet,” Rader said.

Any weather related changes will be announced via the Ocean Tribe Paddlers Facebook page.

The Ocean Tribe Paddlers is a club hosted by the Sanibel Sea School. For more information, visit oceantribepaddlers.org or email oceantribepaddlers@sanibelseaschool.org.
