Joseph Walker Huff Jr
Joseph Walker Huff, Jr, 80, a Ft. Myers, FL resident since 1979, formerly of Georgia passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Ft. Myers, FL. He was born December 4, 1937 in Greensboro, GA to Joseph and Mary Huff, now deceased.
He grew up in Brunswick, GA and attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. Joseph was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Sanibel, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mickey Harris Huff of Ft. Myers, FL; four children, Donna Torrent (Dante) of Ft. Myers, FL, Joseph Huff, III (Kim) of High Springs, FL, Josh Huff (Pam) of Ft. Myers, FL and Jason Huff (Sherri) of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Joan Nerger (Paul) of Gainesville, FL; two brothers, Larry Huff of Northglenn, CO and Roy Huff (Diane)of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Amanda, Caitlin, Melissa, Lauren, Cole, Austin, Kala, Stefano, Jesse, JJ, Matthew and Olivia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, John Huff and George Huff. His professional insurance career spanned 44 years, the last 35 with Nationwide Insurance.
For 23 years he was owner/agent of Joe Huff Agency, Inc which later became Huff Insurance Agency operated jointly with his son, Jason Huff who continues the agency today. Joe’s passion other than family was to travel the world which he did extensively during the 90’s and early 2000’s.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2018 at 11 am at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957. A reception will follow in the church parish hall.
