Kaiser and Mullins re-elected as CEPD commissioners
Harry Kaiser and Mike Mullins have been re-elected to the Captiva Erosion Prevention District’s Board of Commissioners.
The deadline for candidates to submit their name and qualifying documents to appear on the Nov. 6 ballot for Seats 1 and 3 expired on June 22. Only the incumbents, Kaiser and Mullins, registered.
By virtue of them running unopposed, they are elected to serve another four-year term. By Florida statute, “the names of unopposed candidates shall not appear on the general election ballot.”
Kaiser has been a commissioner since 2008; Mullins has served since 2006.
Their new terms expire in 2022.
The district is comprised of five elected, unpaid commissioners dedicated to preserving and maintaining Captiva’s beaches and shorelines. For more information, visit mycepd.com.
