Dads looking for a day of fun rides and cool waters with their families will find just that at Southwest Florida’s largest water park.

Sun Splash Family Waterpark is once again treating fathers to a weekend of free admission with a paid kid or regular-priced ticket in honor of Father’s Day.

Waterpark Manager Sandy Grenier said this a tradition they hope to continue for many years to come.

“All fathers can enter our park this Saturday and Sunday for no admission price with the purchase of a child or regular admission ticket.”

“It’s a way of honoring the dads in the area and we make it affordable to them if they otherwise couldn’t make it out to Sun Splash,” Grenier added.

Raffle prizes will also be available for dads to take a chance at receiving some great gifts.

Among them is a two-night, three-day stay at Port of the Islands, a $250 gift card to Sanibel Outlets, two sets of foursome passes to Coral Oaks Golf Course and a 40 volt Oregon trimmer/edger from Mere’s Mowers.

“These are some great prizes for dads, the winner of the trimmer/edger last year came back and said how well it worked!” said Grenier.

The winners will be drawn on Sunday at 4 p.m., and fathers do not have to be present to claim their prize.

“Our turnout is always great to see,” said Grenier of the annual event.

Some big changes have been taken on this year, and Sun Splash has had an eventful off season, according to Grenier.

“This is the first time the park has been all together since our unfortunate fire in 2016. We have a new cafe, new guest relations center and a new gift shop. These new amenities make us more efficient in helping customer the way they should be served.”

In her nine years working at the park, she feels this season has a whole new feel to it.

“The park looks beautiful, we have done so many wonderful upgrades, including a new logo. It feels fresh.”

The new “Pirates Cove” has also been a great addition to the waterpark.

“We build Pirates Cove for the kids, but we see the adults having just as much fun!” said Grenier.

Sun Splash has lots to offer not just kids, but the whole family.

You can relax along the Main Stream River Tube Ride as is gently navigates you through the park.

For the more adventurous, Thunder Bump, Terror Tube and the X-celerator drop guests down a steep incline, perfect for the adrenaline rush you’re looking for.

Flumes, tunnels and slides all find a home at Sun Splash, varying in size and ferocity.

“Come and check out our park and all of our new renovations,” said Grenier.

“It’s a great place to cool off and relax, you’ll want to come back.”

Sun Splash is currently open seven days a week for the summer season, from Monday-Sunday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. with “Saturday Slide Nights” on June 23, Aug.14 and 28. The water park will be open until 8:30 p.m. on these select nights, with a special admission price after 5 p.m..

Also, a special promotion is happening in June at Sun Splash, “Two’s Days.”

Admission for two people is just $22.22 on Tuesday all month.
