Captiva Hurricane Annual Seminar planned for community
The 2018 Captiva Hurricane Annual Seminar is set for June 13 at 3 p.m. at the fire station.
The guest speakers will include Sandra Tapfumaneyi, operations chief for Emergency Management with the Lee County Department of Public Safety. She will discuss the lessons learned from Hurricane Irma and how to prepare for future storms.
NBC meteorologist Jason Dunning will discuss the 2018 hurricane season predictions.
Following the presentations, representatives of the Captiva Island Fire Control District, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lee County Emergency Operations Center will answer questions about storm preparations, safely returning to Captiva after evacuating and the required re-entry passes.
Copies of The All Hazards Guide, Family Hurricane Planner, Captiva Home Owners Authorization Letter and other valuable information will be available.
