The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, presents the following:
French baker Andre Gratesol will teach the first session in a four-part progressive series focused on baking on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first class is on sweet and savory puff pastries, including pate a choux and St. Honore. Cost is $50 per session or $175 for the series. Advance registration required; limit of 16 participants.
Hands-on Cooking Class
Chef Jarred Harris will teach a hands-on cooking class on “Simply Vegetarian” on May 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. The menu will include: vegetable spaghetti with sweet potato pumpkin and peanut stew topped with coconut bacon and citrus ginger and coconut crme brulee. Cost is $40. Advance registration required.
Chef Jarred Cooking Demo
Resident Chef Jarred Harris will teach healthy Asian cooking techniques on May 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. Demonstration to include: shrimp and vegetable summer rolls and spicy peanut sauce, simple pho noodle soup, and roasted bananas, coconut and honey custard. For beginners and experienced foodies. Cost is $25. Advance registration required.
