Cape woman dies in single-car crash in North Fort Myers
Shortly after midnight today, May 9, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicular accident that occurred near the intersection of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Orange Grove Boulevard in North Fort Myers.
According to the LCSO, a 2001 Nissan attempted to negotiate a curve while traveling west on Hancock Bridge Parkway. The Nissan failed to negotiate the curve causing it to exit the roadway, strike a culvert and become airborne. The Nissan subsequently struck a power pole before coming to a final rest.
The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan, Amber Faith Udell, 26, of Cape Coral was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased, the LOCO report states.
It is unknown, at this time, if alcohol/drugs were a factor in the crash.
