The Captiva Island Yacht Club recently announced this year’s Summer Junior Sailing Program and there are still openings available for one of the two sessions scheduled.

The sessions are planned for June 11-22 and July 16-27, running Monday to Friday.

“Our second session is July is full,” Lauren Davies, business manager and sailing coordinator for the Captiva Island Yacht Club, said. “But we still have seven spots open for the session one.”

The session is open to children ages 8 to 15, of all skill levels.

A U.S. Sailing Certified program, participants will learn the skills and discipline of small boat sailing. It will cover small crafts – IOD Prams and Sunfish – and handling kayaks and paddleboards.
