SCA Annual Meeting
The Sanibel Community Association will host its annual meeting today, April 25, at 5 p.m. Learn about the status of the SCA and the facility; appetizers and beverages to follow. Ballots will be emailed again this year and mailed only to those with no email on file. Reservations are encouraged by calling 239-472-2155 or stopping by The Community House. Those unable to attend but who would like to make a donation can visit “http://www.sanibelcommunityhouse.net”>www.sanibelcommunityhouse.net; a donation of $1,500 pays the electric bill for one month, $750 pays the garbage bill for one month and $100 pays the pest control bill for one month.
Chef Jarred Cooking Demo
Resident Chef Jarred Harris will demonstrate making a fast, healthy and delicious meal on April 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. Menu is curried parsnip and apple soup, quinoa and leek cakes with salad and tzatziki, and hazelnut and honey pie. Foodies and Yogis
As part of the Foodies and Yogis series, Dr. Susan Pataky and Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host “Dandelion, Down Dog-Deep Cleanse” on May 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Each segment features a healing herb or spice, along with information on its medicinal uses and applications in the kitchen. The program includes a one-hour beginner-friendly yoga session with Pataky, followed by a meal by Harris. Cost is $49. Young Chef’s Cooking Class
For children ages 8 and up, create healthy meals from a different country from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The May 7 class will focus on Thailand with summer rolls, thai chicken salad, pineapple, coconut fudge and more. Cost is $35. Registration required at firstname.lastname@example.org or 239-472-2155.
