SCCF to host program on shorebird monitoring
Join the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation’s biologists to learn about the various shorebird species that nest on the island beaches, including snowy plovers, Wilson plovers and least terns.
The program will take place on April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Nature Center.
The first plover nest of the season has been recorded and protected, and it will be monitored until the hatching. Also, learn about the migratory habits of the birds and what is learned by banding them.
The Nature Center is at 3333 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel.
