Cape Coral residents Joseph and Barbara Ann Timko recently found a junonia shell and a Scotch bonnet shell near the Gulfside City Park Beach on Sanibel. The regular shellers reported that both were found during the evening hours, with the Scotch bonnet discovered on April 17 and the junonia on April 18. It was the couple’s first time finding a Scotch bonnet, but their second time finding a junonia. The couple came across their first junonia 20 years ago while on their honeymoon. They attribute the recent winds and storms, as well as the low tide, to their recent finds.
