Fifth-graders were honored on April 4 at the Logos Family Time at Sanibel Community Church on Sanibel. They have been the leaders among the children for the 2017-2018 year. A meal of pizza, chips, vegetables and ice cream sundaes were served. The mothers dressed up the tables with fun decorations and gift baskets for the youth. Each year, the Ernie Gunther award is given to a Logos Volunteer, who has no children or grandchildren in the program. This year’s recipient is Janet McBee, who volunteered as a table parent each week, nurturing the youth through a family-style meal, then participating in the weekly themed activity afterward. Logos is a family program held Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. for children age 3 through fifth grade. For more information, call 239-472-2684.
