The Sanibel School
Citizens of the Week
Kindergarteners and first-grade students earn Sea Horse tickets for good behavior, a helpful attitude and an eagerness to learn. Each week, the school selects a Sea Horse ticket winner from the classes. The winners get to select a prize from the prize cabinet. The following students are the recent Citizens of the Week: Kacelyn Noorlander, Chloe Selby, Libby Phalen and Natalya Sampas.
Students of the Month
The following middle school students are the Students of the Month for January and February: Ella Stroud, Jack Byers, Bailey Drobnyk, Chet Sproles, Kristian Schafer, Camryn Peach, Lilly Noorlander, Vincas Jankauskas, Sophia Black, Kaitlyn Ricciardella, J.J. Ignac and Amy Martinez. They will be recognized on the Sanibel SEA TV, as well as have their photo displayed on the middle school bulletin board.
The Seahorse Chorale performed before the Lee County School Board at its March 27 meeting.
Fall Book Drive
When students knew that they were going to receive new books at the Fall Book Drive, they asked to donate used books from their own personal libraries to children impacted by Hurricane Irma. Students, local author Kyle Miller and others donated the books, which were later presented to the children at Bonita Springs Elementary School. Many of their homes in the Imperial River area were devastated by the flooding. A total of 505 books were received by the storm victims.
