Vice President Mike Pence, left, stopped to take a photo today with Myton Ireland, owner of Gramma Dot’s at the Sanibel Marina. Pence arrived in Fort Myers last week for a weeklong visit on Sanibel. The National Business Aviation Administration issued a temporary flight restriction and notice to airmen on March 29 from 1:45 to 3 p.m., which spans three nautical miles in Lee County and impacts Southwest Florida Intentional Airport. Pilots are prohibited from flying during that time. Pence appears to be staying on the island for a week. Another temporary flight restriction and notice to airmen has been issued by the National Business Aviation Administration for April 6 from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m., again spanning three nautical miles in Lee County and impacting Southwest Florida Intentional Airport. In April 2017, Pence and his wife arrived in Lee and spent some time on Sanibel. They attended a Sunday service at the Sanibel Community Church, as well as dined at the Timbers Restaurant.
