COTI elects new board members, officers

At its annual meeting on March 21, the Committee of the Islands elected its board and officers.

Elected to the board of directors were Maryann Bell, Barbara Joy Cooley and Malcolm Martini. In addition, Martin Packard, Linda Robison and Susan Tucker were re-elected for a second term.

COTI also elected the following officers: Mike Miller, president; Jan Holly, vice president; Susan Tucker, treasurer; and Linda Robison, secretary.

David Guest, the keynote speaker for the meeting, spoke about environmental issues including the state’s Land Acquisition Trust Fund, Florida Forever program and Florida Water and Land Conservation Initiative from 2014, along with the Everglades and storage reservoir planned for the Everglades Agricultural Area.
