A driver who was fatally injured after he crashed into a Fort Myers school late Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a Fort Myers teen.

Wesley Prophet Sauveur, 17, was found deceased inside the vehicle that struck the Evangelical Christian School on Beacon Boulevard at a high rate of speed, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports.

No students or teachers were injured.

Due to the nature of the incident, Major Crimes Unit detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded and assumed the investigation. That investigation remains active, officials said Thursday.
