Lunch and design ideas offered during workshops at Community House
Join Decorating Den Interiors once a month through April for a special afternoon luncheon and workshop at The Community House.
The workshops, which include lunch prepared by resident chef Jarred Harris, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. and are $30 per person.
“We welcome any opportunity to interact and give back to the community that supports our business so greatly,” Linda Coin, director of Decorating Den Interiors, said. “It’s exciting to have the newly renovated and expanded Community House available for all to enjoy. We’re thrilled to be a small part in encouraging residents to visit and experience this great venue and the innovative cuisine of chef Jarred Harris.”
“We hope to provide ideas and inspiration for the attendee’s next decorating project. Rooms displayed during our workshops are all real rooms for real people with real budgets,” she added.
The first workshop, “Love Your Home,” will be held Jan. 22 and will showcase highlights from the new Decorating Den Interiors book.
“We will highlight marvelous makeovers that reflect the actual clients that live in these spaces,” Coin said. “We will discuss the design process and the benefit of working with a professional designer, which can provide individuals, couples and families with the satisfaction of living in a home that brings comfort, peace and joy.”
The next workshop, “Paradise Found,” will be held Feb. 12. Ideas on how to add a coastal influence to the home environment will be shared during the workshop.
“We will offer images of both beautiful interiors and outdoor entertainment areas reflecting our Southwest Florida lifestyle,” she said.
Innovative indoor-outdoor products will also be highlighted.
“Color Your Life” will be the topic of the March 12 workshop and will shed light on what colors are current and upcoming in home interiors, as well as how one can bring color into their life and space.
“We will touch on color theory and how to create fun and harmony within a home environment,” she said.
The final workshop in the series, “Principles of Design,” will be held April 9. The workshop will discuss balance, scale and proportion and show photographs exemplifying these principles.
“People often walk into a room and think, ‘This room just feels right.’ Getting that result takes a design plan and preparation to make everything work beautifully,” Coin said. “This presentation will be a journey through three of the design principles that we use in our business every single day with every single client.”
Those interested in registering for the workshops are encouraged to do so early by visiting either www.sanibelcommunityhouse.net or by calling 239-472-2155.
“All of us at Decorating Den Interiors are looking forward to meeting and interacting with the attendees of these events,” she said. “This is a great opportunity for us at DDI to understand better our market and what products and services people are looking for.”
Dana and Linda Coin own and operate Sanibel Decorating Den Interiors, which opened 28 years ago.
“Our affiliation with Decorating Den Interiors allows us to provide our clients with products from hundreds of suppliers,” Coin said. “We offer a full-service experience. We visit our clients in their own space and provide complete, custom design services. From initial consultation through installation and delivery, we take care of all the details so they don’t have to. We are in the business of improving people’s lives by creating an environment in their home or office that allows them to feel and function the way they want.”
She said an initial in-home consultation is complimentary for new clients who would like to discuss their design options. The Decorating Den Interiors design team will be available after workshop to schedule consultation appointments.
The Community House is at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
