Updated: Man sought in CCPD bank robbery

Cape Coral police are looking for the man who robbed the Bank of the Ozarks branch at at 61 Hancock Bridge Parkway West Monday morning.

The man sought in the 9:30 a.m. robbery is described as a white male, 5’10-6′ in height, 170-180lbs, 40-50 years of age with salt & pepper hair. He was dressed in jeans, a black sweatshirt and had a Steelers baseball cap on, and also had what looked like cotton balls or gauze stuffed in his mouth.

According to the CCPD he passed a note to the teller demanding money and claiming to have a weapon, though no weapon was shown. He retrieved the note from the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a dark blue Dodge Dakota, 4 door pickup with dark tinted windows.

According to a release issued at just after 10 a.m., the CCPD said the suspect is described as an older white male standing 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall with salt and pepper-colored hair, wearing a Navy blue or black hoodie, a Steelers ball cap and headphones. He reportedly left the scene in a blue 4-door Dodge pickup truck.

K9, aviation and major crimes detectives are on scene.
