Foodie and Yogis class at the Community House
Community House Resident Chef Jarred Harris and Dr. Susan Pataky, a longtime yoga instructor, are combining forces for their new Foodies and Yogis series that will be offered monthly at the Community House.
During this month’s class on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m., Pataky will focus on back care and the medicinal uses of basil and how to use it in the kitchen.
From 4 to 5 p.m., she will show participants how to improve back strength, flexibility, ease tension and reduce tension and discomfort.
“The class is beginner friendly as long as they can get on the floor,” Pataky said. “It will also be geared to those in attendance.”
Following the yoga class, Harris will prepare a three course meal comprised of sweet corn chowder in basil oil, fish cooked in parchment with squash, basil and tomatoes and sweet lemon basil panna cotta with winter berries in white balsamic syrup.
The cost for the class is $49 per person. To register, call 239-472-2155. The fee must be paid 72 hours in advance of the class.
