The Tower Gallery will be pairing up with Hirdie Girdie Gallery and Suncatchers’ Dream to host their Art Under the Stars event Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Twenty-four artists from Tower Gallery will come together to show their latest pieces at Art Under the Stars. Some of the mediums include watercolor, glass, sculpture, raku, oils, acrylic and photography.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the event. Guests who spend over $50 have the opportunity to win a piece of original art.

“There’s going to be a lot of good gifts,” said Marianne Ravenna, one of the artists at Tower Gallery.

One of the gallery’s newest artists, Kathy Seguin, who joined the cooperative gallery in September, will be showing her photographs. Seguin has been taking photos for the last 4-5 years.

Seguin’s photographs that are shown at the gallery are comprised mostly of nature and wildlife.

“Birds are my favorite because you can capture the detail that you don’t otherwise see with a naked eye,” Seguin said.

Seguin also dabbles in landscape, macro and mostly recently, infrared photography.

“I like all different kinds of things,” Seguin said. “It’s fascinating when you can capture the shot but as much as capturing the shot, I like the editing process too. It brings out the creative part for me.”

Seguin said the event is the perfect place to pick up some unique Christmas presents.

“There’s some amazing artists here,” she said. “I feel privileged to be in the gallery among all these very talented people.”
