South Seas Island Resort will be decked out in the spirit of Christmas beginning this week.

The annual Holiday Stroll will take place at South Seas Island Resort’s Yacht Harbour & Marina Dec. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Festivities for this year include holiday films, s’mores, snow cones, letters to Santa, arts and crafts and an ice skating rink. During the stroll, kids will also have the opportunity to take pictures with Santa.

Rachele Noce, director of recreation and special events at South Seas Island Resort, said even the boats at the marina are decorated for the Holiday Stroll.

“The whole atmosphere there is just amazing to see,” Noce said.

The vision for the Holiday Stroll came into being five years ago according to Noce.

“It lets us show off our property and open it up to the public,” she said. “It’s a really cool time of the year.”

On selected nights, the event will feature live music, a face painter a balloon artist and a caricature artist.

Noce said prizes will also be given out during the stroll.

“The elves which will be present during the Holiday Stroll will have special giveaways for the guests,” she said.

Harbourside Bar & Grill will be offering food for guests throughout the night.

Tickets for the event are $10. Children 12 and under are free. They can be purchased at the Captiva Conference Center. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Proceeds from the event will benefit Community Cooperative.
