Adventures in Paradise Inc. offers Thanksgiving Cruise
Not a football fan? Not to worry. Slots are still available for Adventures in Paradise Inc.’s annual Thanks-giving Cruise.
Josh Stewart, co-owner of Adventures in Paradise Inc., said the cruises came about after finding that there was a demand in the community for holiday themed cruises.
“We’ve been running it for about eight years now. It started snowballing into something that was really popular, now it maxes out every year,” Stewart said.
The Thanksgiving Sunset Dolphin & Wildlife Cruise departs from the “G” dock at Port Sanibel Marina located at 14341 Port Comfort Road, Fort Myers, Thursday, Nov. 23, at 4:30 p.m. The boat is set to return at 6 p.m.
“It’s something fun to do and it’s a great way to end the day,” Stewart said. “The sunsets are always gorgeous out there. There’s 300 dolphins in the bay alone, so we’ll definitely see those.”
Along the way, guests will learn about wildlife, mangrove islands and estuaries.
“It’s a nice little learning experience,” Stewart said. “The captains and the mates are all marine biologists.”
During the cruise, the boat will make a stop near Skimmer Island where hundreds, sometimes thousands, of birds can be seen. Some of those species include ibises, pelicans and even bald eagles.
“It’s a really unique spot to go to during this time of year,” Stewart said.
Free soft drinks and bottled water are provided. Guests are also welcomed to bring their own drinks.
The cruise is $29 per person. To make reservations, call 239-472-8443 or go to adventuresinparadiseinc.com.
