To help fund its scholarship program, the Children’s Center of the Islands will hold its third annual Pigs in Paradise fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m.

“No child has a reason to not be able to come to preschool,” said Cindy DeCosta, director of the Children’s Education Center of the Islands.

Advanced tickets are $30 per person. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $35. For kids 13-18 tickets are $10, kids 12 and under are free. Admission includes roasted pork, potato salad, beans and milkshakes from Cheeburger Cheeburger.

“We’ll also have hotdogs for kids who don’t like barbecue,” DeCosta said.

Additionally, the event will have a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Some of the silent auction items include chartered fishing trips, a full-day boat rental at Jensen’s Marina, Disney tickets, Busch Gardens tickets, Sea World Tickets, Broadway Palm tickets, restaurant gift cards, Zoomer’s tickets, a Captiva Cruises gift certificate and a three-night stay at South Seas Island Resort.

Sponsors for this year include the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club, Bank of the Islands Sanibel-Captiva Beach Resorts, VIP Realty, Mary Lou Bailey and Bailey’s General Store.
