Fanfare for the common man
To the editor:
The removal of Confederate statues seems to be gathering steam and pretty soon we will have hundreds of statue bases with no statue on the base.
What should replace the Confederate statues?
I would recommend that we replace the Confederate statues with statues of me, Albert C. Hann. You don’t know who I am? Good. That means that nobody will object to me.
You don’t know what I stand for? Good. That means that nobody can object to my views since nobody knows what they are. I could be famous for not being famous.
Perhaps the statues would be a tourist attraction. Be the first city to have an Albert C. Hann statue and tourists will flock to see it.
Fanfare for the common man. What could be more American?
