A Cape Coral man has been charged with making a bomb threat to his electricity provider due to his delinquent bill.

According to a report by the Lee County Sheriff’s Report, a call taker with the Lee County Electric Cooperative had a conversation with a disgruntled customer identified as David Munoz, 56, of 212 S.W. 13th Ave. The call taker informed Munoz that his electric bill was going to be delinquent on payment. Munoz then, the report states, made threats to blow up the LCEC building.

Munoz was charged with threat to bomb/destructive device and booked in the Lee County Jail.

He has since been released on $10,000 bond.
