‘Tween Waters Inn Resort & Spa unveils brand new pool for guests
After nearly six months of construction, ‘Tween Waters Inn Resort & Spa opened its new Serenity Pool July 13. A ribbon cutting for the pool will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 5 p.m.
The Serenity Pool, which is adjacent to the main pool at the resort, took the place of one of ‘Tween’s tennis courts. The new pool area, which cost close to $600,000, boasts four private cabanas that can be rented out for $50 a day. Each cabana is named after shells that can be found on the island.
“This is an Infinity Edge pool and basically, it’s cooled or heated by geothermal (technology). It’s kept at 85 degrees year round,” Chief Executive Officer of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts Tony Lapi said. “The idea was to make a pool that was a little quieter.”
Lapi said the additional pool will come in handy for private parties.
“The other function we like out of this pool is if we have a private function like a large wedding, and they want to do something pool-side, we’ll give them this pool so we don’t have to worry about our other guests,” Lapi said.
The Serenity Pool will also better accommodate guests during season.
“When we fill up at the hotel, especially during peak holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, the other pool was packed, especially if you had a cold day where you couldn’t use the beach. We were finding that (the main pool) was getting uncomfortable for our guests,” Lapi said.
By this fall, Lapi plans to install a small bar that will compliment the new Serenity Pool.
“As soon as we get the permits, we’ll start building,” he said.
