Food contest results announced for MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival

Every year at MangoMania, the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Com-merce features a variety of food contests that includes desserts, breads, jams, jellies, salsas, dressings and entrees.

“These contests offer the opportunity for professional and amateur chefs to show off their skills,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Jennings said.

The contest winners were:

Mango Cookies/Desserts

1st place, Vicki Alan – Mango Upside Down Cake

“The purpose of MangoMania is to showcase all that Pine Island has to offer and to promote island growers and businesses,” Jennings said. “We had over 120 vendors and a great turnout for this 21st annual Mango Mania.”

This year’s MangoMania was held July 15-16 at the German American Club on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. For more information about the annual event, call the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce at 239-283-0888. The chamber office is at 3640 S.W. Pine Island Road.
