Portions of the beach temporarily closed between Blind Pass Park and northern Bowman’s Beach due to unsafe conditions
The City of Sanibel closed a portion of the gulf beach between Blind Pass Park and the northern end of Bowman’s Beach Park due to high surf and unsafe conditions Thursday. Some areas along the beach where sand was recently placed and tilled as part of the Blind Pass Inlet Dredging Project became saturated and became every difficult to traverse. The public has been advised to obey all posted signage and avoid this area until further notice. City staff will be performing periodic inspections of the area and will reopen the beach when conditions improve. For additional information regarding this temporary beach closure, contact The City of Sanibel’s Natural Resources Department at (239) 472-3700.
