Quarter Auction to Benefit Military Care Package Program

By Staff | Jun 6, 2017

The Lee Health Military Support Group will host a Quarter Auction on Thursday, June 15, at the Military Closet located at 2158 Johnson Street, Fort Myers to benefit its deployed care package program. Funds raised will be used to help offset postage costs to send the packages to active military troops.

The support group ships care packages to our deployed troops at an average cost of $700-950 per month for postage. Bring lots of quarters, bring your friends and enjoy a fun night of bidding while helping to support our troops. Dinner and snacks will be available for purchase.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and admission for the evening is one of the following (to be added to the care packages):

*Cotton swabs

*Lip balm

*Suntan lotion (non-aerosol)

*Meat in a pouch (e.g. tuna)

The Military Support Group is dedicated to supporting our military men and women and their families while deployed. Since its inception in 2003, more than 80,000 pounds of care packages have been sent to more than 1,400 local deployed troops.
